Last August 26, 2017 with my mom we went to Eastwood Citywalk to check out the Funlasang Pinoy by Unilever. Nine chefs and cooks from across the country will battle for the grand cook-off for the first-ever Funlasang Pinoy Twist Fest by Unilever Food Solutions Philippines (UFS).
The finalist are challenged to make a classic Pinoy dish and make a twist making it more mouth-watering for the Pinoy to love.Knowing that cooks and chefs getting adventurous in making their dishes means that food lovers would surely crave.
There are concessionaires selling their products and dishes Crackles Chips, Nieta Preserves, Native Gourmet, Sabaw Dumplings, Sisig Hooray, Tapa Addiction, Kapeng Mainit, Hiraya Bakery, Think Wink Cookies, Majalicious, Lokalitea All, Balangay’s Best, Enchanted Nuts, Puto Ni Papa, Healthy Nuggets, Bagnet Rice Patong, Bagwings, Golden Duck, Master Flan, OHGK and Keso Beso.
“We were very excited to witness our talented Pinoy chefs showcase their ingenuity in making a classic Filipino dish stand out like we’ve never seen nor tasted before,” said James Benedict Carreon, UFS Philippines Managing Director. “This competition was created to provide an avenue for our chefs and cooks to showcase their talents and creativity to reignite everyone’s love for Filipino food.”
After a rigorous selection among 160 mouthwatering recipes of different Filipino dishes with a twist, only nine chefs and cooks from across the country battled it out at the grand cook-off of the first-ever Funlasang Pinoy Twist Fest competition by Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) Philippines. The finalist chefs are challenged to deliver the best tasting and most innovative take on the classic Pinoy dishes with fun twists that will surely fuel the love of Pinoys for Filipino cuisine.
Finalist in making their dishes with a twist are required to use Knorr products and/or Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise. Their dishes will be judged based on creativity, food taste, presentation and use of UFS products.
Winner of said event was Chef Danilo Puga II presented an original Octupus Sisig as his best selling Pinoy dish with a twist. He won Php 100,000 cash prize and exclusive publicity features.
