Renee Olstead Summertime at Edsa Shangri-La Dinner Show

I got attend the press conference for Renee Olstead for her upcoming dinner show at Isla Grand Ballroom, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila at March 29, 2014 – 8:00 pm.

During the press con, the media was given a chance to ask a few questions that Renee was delighted to answer. I was given a chance to ask Renee Olstead a question asking, “What the first genre she was in before she focused in jazz?” She answered with full delight she was in country music at that time before jazz. Of course, the media asked if she could give a sample of her singing country music. Here a short video during the question and answer with Renee Olstead.

Brief information on Renee Olstead

Renee Olstead with the full name of Rebecca Renee Olstead and was born June 18, 1989. Not only as a jazz singer she also into acting, commercials, charity fundraisers, and local vocal appearances.

Renee also won several awards like The International Jazz Talent award during 2008 in Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival. Her song “Summertime” was also nominated for a Grammy Award during 2005 for the category “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist”.

Composer David Foster discovered her and she worked with great jazz artist like Chris Botti, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan.

Renee visited the Philippines several times already and joined advocacy of PETA in the campaign to free Mali in captivity in Manila Zoo.
